Ode to Summer

long sleeve

long pants

windows closed

too soon

i’ll need my jacket on tonight

to view the August moon

i’m fearing my hot summer day’s

are waning much too soon

it’s chilly up here in the hills

I so dislike the creeping chills

that come when summer’s gone

don’t go

not yet

i feel we’ve only just met..

tomorrow is another day

you’d make me  happy if you’d stay

forever would be long enough
