thoughts on suicide

sometimes life seems just too hard to live

and the struggle becomes too long

the moment when one decides to end it

seems welcome just to end the pain

some survive and find reasons to live

if not for their own life

than another

and their purpose not known at the time

becomes evident

but noone can predict the future with any certainty

and if daily life is just too damn hard

then sadly it may be a relief to some to end it

as a survivor 43 years later I know this to be true

I wish the young man I heard about on the news did

i can so understand his pain

if he’d only known his purpose
